Discover the colourful heart of spring

A hidden pearl in the Dutch bulb-growing region, Julianadorp is known for its breathtaking bulb fields. Every spring, the region transforms into a living painting, with endless fields full of colourful tulips, daffodils and hyacinths. As part of the largest continuous bulb area in the world, Julianadorp offers a unique experience for anyone who wants to experience the splendour of spring.

From late March to mid-May, the bulb fields are in full bloom, with April being the absolute highlight. The landscape turns into a sea of colours. The red of tulips, the yellow of daffodils and the blue of hyacinths make for spectacular views. The fresh spring fragrance and the sound of birds singing complete the experience. It is the perfect setting to take a break from the daily hustle and bustle and immerse yourself in nature.

There are countless ways to explore the bulb fields. You can walk along quiet paths, cycle along the colourful sea of flowers or even take a boat trip through the fields. A popular route is the canoe route from Julianadorp to Den Helder. It takes you through the heart of the bulb fields and offers impressive views along the way.
For a varied experience, take the way back through the dunes. From here, you will enjoy breathtaking views over the brightly coloured flower fields, with the dunes and the North Sea in the background.

Flower bulb cultivation is an important part of the culture in Julianadorp and the surrounding region. Many local growers are happy to share their passion and knowledge with visitors. During the flowering period, events and markets are organised regularly, where you can learn more about the cultivation and buy flowers to take home.

More than just flowers
A visit to the bulb fields can be perfectly combined with other activities in the area. Enjoy a day at the beach, discover the cosy centre of Julianadorp or take a trip to Den Helder.
